'Trump Is So F**king Insane': Bill Maher Ranks Recent MAGA Madness For Conservative Guest

The "Real Time" host enumerated Donald Trump's claims from only this past week when radio host Buck Sexton slammed Vice President Kamala Harris.

Bill Maher couldn’t help but rank the “insane” things former President Donald Trump has said in only the past week, after right-wing “Real Time” guest Buck Sexton argued on Friday’s show that Vice President Kamala Harris flip-flops too much on policy to be taken seriously.

When Sexton claimed Harris has changed her mind on “a dozen different things” since 2020, Maher agreed that she’s probably failed “the old standards that we’ve judged every other politician by” in the past — but argued that Trump’s actions are far more maddening.

“Trump’s superpower is that he is so fucking insane,” Maher told Sexton, “and that he’s been such an inveterate liar about anything he just pulls out of his ass at any time, that that’s just baked into the cake and people accept that.

“Let me just [remind you], this is just Trump this week,” he went on. “First there was the hurricane stuff. Just making shit up about the hurricane, that she’s taking … ‘her FEMA money.’ Kamala spent all her, I guess, ‘her billions,’ as if she stole it from a bank and spent it ‘on housing illegal immigrants.’”

Trump did indeed lie about this at a Michigan campaign rally last week. (FEMA has a dedicated disaster relief budget that can only be used for disaster recovery, not other emergencies, the agency clarified earlier this month. The funds it uses to help shelter migrants come from a separate pot of money.)

Maher went on to remind his pro-Trump guest about the ominous early days of the 2020 pandemic, “when there [were] only a few Covid tests here in this country,” and pointed to a revelation from Bob Woodward’s new book that alleges Trump “sent [one of those tests] to his buddy [Vladimir] Putin” and has been in contact with the Russian president.

And this week, Trump called for an investigation into Harris’ appearance on CBS’ “60 Minutes,” claiming that it had been misleadingly edited and could prove to be a “major campaign finance violation.”

“She went on ‘60 Minutes,’” Maher said Friday. “[Trump] said after that what she did was totally illegal. Going on ’60 Minutes’ — that CBS should lose their license for it and she should be forced to concede the election? My point is, this is his superpower.”

He concluded: “You don’t even notice the insanity because it is ubiquitous.”

Current polling for the November election shows the race neck-and-neck, with Harris leading Trump by only a couple of points. The Democratic nominee recently wrapped a media blitz on shows like “Late Night with Stephen Colbert,” “The View” and the popular “Call Her Daddy” podcast.

Early voting in the presidential election, by mail and in-person, has already begun in several states.
